Given the volume of shift conditions and work types used in this template, it is recommended that you review the list of work types. They will all be automatically applied to employees by default but if any are ever going to be relevant to your organisation then consider removing the 'auto enable' feature.

Coverage

This award covers employers throughout Australia of employees in the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations. For a full list of those occupations and any exclusions, please see clause 4 of the award.

Work Types

Work types are a description of the kind of shift you are working, and are selected when you record a timesheet. The following is a list of work types employees can select on their timesheet, and the meaning of each item.

Work type Description
Annual leave taken Select this work type when Annual leave is taken . This will also be used when turning an approve leave request into a timesheet entry through employee self service.
Change of residence for a transfer - travelling time Select this work type to represent travel time you've underis taken as a result of changing residence for a transfer of location
Compassionate leave taken Select this work type when Compassionate leave is taken . This will also be used when turning an approve leave request into a timesheet entry through employee self service.
Continuous unrostered shift Select this worktype if you have worked a shift which is continuous but for which was not rostered
Day worker filling in for a shiftworker Select this work type if you work day work but have been required to fill a shift for someone on afternoon or night shift
Dispute resolution procedure training leave taken Select this work type when Dispute resolution procedure training leave is taken . This will also be used when turning an approve leave request into a timesheet entry through employee self service.
Distant work travelling time Select this work type if you have to work long distance. Reflect the travel time in excess of that which you'd normally do between home and work
Fertilizer production work - acid Select this work type if you produce fertilizers and are working with acid
Fertilizer production work - general duties Select this work type if you produce fertilizers and perform general duties (not working with acids)
Fertilizer production work - production and despatch Select this work type if you produce fertilizers and are involved in production and despatch
Getting the plant in a state of readiness for production work Select this work type if you've started early to get the plant in a stage of readiness for production
Hours worked Select this work type for all hours worked, unless another work type is more specific
Kilometres travelled Select this work type to enter the mileage travelled in your car for work purposes. 1 unit is equivalent to 1 kilometre
Leave without pay taken Select this work type when Leave without pay is taken . This will also be used when turning an approve leave request into a timesheet entry through employee self service.
Long service leave taken Select this work type when Long service leave is taken . This will also be used when turning an approve leave request into a timesheet entry through employee self service.
Make up time - hours being worked Record the hours being worked if you have deferred hours and are now working make up time
Makeup time - hours being deferred Record the hours being deferred to a later time
Number of overtime meals brought but not need (overtime later cancelled) Enter a number of units reflecting the overtime meals you've brought but later not used because the overtime was cancelled
Other unrostered shiftwork (not continuous) Select this worktype if you have worked a shift which is not continuous and for which was not rostered
Paid Community Service leave taken Select this work type when Paid Community Service leave is taken . This will also be used when turning an approve leave request into a timesheet entry through employee self service.
Public holiday not worked Use this work type if you're a permanent employee who has had a day or part of a day off because it is a public holiday
RDO Select this work type when RDO . This will also be used when turning an approve leave request into a timesheet entry through employee self service.
Recalled to work Use this work type if you have been recalled to work after having left for the day
Shift worked that was arranged between employees Use this work type for shifts you've worked as arranged between you and another employee
Ship trial at sea/harbour - technical field Select this work type if you are on a ship trial at sea or in the harbour and work in a technical field
Ship trial at wharf - technical field Select this work type if you are on a ship trial at a wharf and work in a technical field
Stand by after hours Select this work type if you are in stand by for work after hours
Start and/or finish work at a job away from the usual workplace - excess travelling time Select this work type if you're travelling away from the normal job site to reflect the excess trave hours.
Time In Lieu taken Select this work type when Time In Lieu is taken . This will also be used when turning an approve leave request into a timesheet entry through employee self service.
Unrostered shift Select this work type if the shift you are working was not originally rostered
Personal / carer's leave taken Select this work type when Personal / carer's leave is taken . This will also be used when turning an approve leave request into a timesheet entry through employee self service.

Shift Conditions

Shift Conditions are further detail you can add to a shift where perhaps more than one condition applies to your shift. In this award, many of these shift conditions are used to trigger allowances. For special rates, the rules will work out the highest award to be paid, so the employee will need to select all that are relevant. Create a new shift each time a shift condition changes. Shift conditions are selected when you edit a timesheet record, or when clocking on using the ClockMeIn Time and Attendance app. The following is a list of Shift Conditions employees can select on their timesheet, and the meaning of each item.

Attending a pug mill PUGML Select this condition if you're manually engaged in attending a pug mill
Attending to a switchboard where the generating capacity is 350 kW or over SWTCH Select this shift condition if you are attending to a switchboard where the generating capacity is 350 kW or over as an engine driver or fire person.
Attending to an electric generator or dynamo exceeding 10 kW capacity 10kW Select this condition if you are attending to an electric generator or dynamo exceeding 10 kW capacity as an engine driver or fireperson
Attending to refrigeration compressors FRIDG Select this condition if you are refrigeration compressor as an engine driver or fireperson
Bridge construction or repair BRDGE Select this condition if you're engaged in the construction,erection,repair and/or maintenance of bridges
Carrying and stacking bagged raw materials (other than soda ash) STBRW Select this condition if you're manually engaged in carrying and stacking bagged raw materials (other than soda ash)
Carrying and stacking bagged soda ash SODA Select this condition if you're manually engaged in carrying and stacking bagged raw materials (which has soda ash)
Cleaner, greaser or oiler - stopping or starting an engine GRSR Select this condition if you are a cleaner, greaser or oiler and are involved in stopping and starting the engine
Cold places - temperature is reduced by artificial means below 0°C <0°C Select this condition if you are working in cold places by artiical means below 0 degrees celcius
Crushing cullet CULLT Select this condition if you're manually engaged in crushing cullet
Dirty conditions - other than ship repairing DIRTY Select this condition if you work in dirty conditions, other than ship repairs
Electrical underground mine work UNDER Select this condition if you work in electrical underground mine work
Engine driver cleaning or scraping boilers ENGBL Select this condition if you are an engine driver and are cleaning or scraping boilers
Excavating bins, and the manufacture or excavating of superphosphate until it is dumped on the heap for curing HPCUR Select this condition if you are working with excavating bins, and the manufacture or excavating of superphosphate until it is dumped on the heap for curing
Feeding a bag cleaning machine FEEDB Select this condition if you're manually engaged in feeding a bag cleaning machine
Float glass furnace repair FGFRP Select this condition if engaged in the removal of molten tin from the float glass bath while the float glass furnace is undergoing repair
Foundry work FNDRY Select this condition if engaged in work t a foundry. Foundry work means any operation in the production of castings by casting metal in a mould made of sand, loam, metal, moulding composition or other material or mixture of materials, or by shell moulding, centrifugal casting or continuous casting and,where carried on as an incidental process in connection with and in the course of the aforementioned production, the preparation of moulds and cores (but not in the making of patterns and dies in a separate room), knock out processes and dressing operations, but does not include any operations performed in connection with:

●non-ferrous die casting (including gravity and pressure);or

●casting of billets and/or ingots in metal moulds;or

●continuous casting of metal into billets;or

●melting of metal for use in printing;or

●refining of metal.
Gasometers or other structures building or repairs GASOM Select this condition if you're engaged in the construction,erection,repair and/or maintenance of gasometers or other structures, building or repairs
Glass furnace regenerators GLFRG Select this condition if engaged on the work of building, rebuilding, or packing glass furnace regenerators
Handle manganese dioxide and other pigments MnO 2 Select this condition if you're required to handle manganese dioxide and other pigments
Handling carbon black CARBL Select this condition if you are a storeperson and packer handling carbon black in a bulk store, a forklift driver handling or transporting carbon black (except when it is packed in sealed metal containers), an employee handling carbon black elsewhere before processing, an employee engaged in processing free carbon black, a cleaner employed in sweeping free carbon black or engaged in baling used carbon black bags
Handling insulation materials INSUL Select this condition if handling loose slag wool, loose insulwool or other loose material of a like nature used for providing insulation against heat, cold or noise, when employed on ship construction or ship repairing or on the construction, repair or demolition of furnaces, walls, floors and/or ceilings
Handling rock phosphate to crushers and others SPRCR Select this condition if you both perform work in respect of artificial fertilizers, chemicals, alkalis and all processes involving chemical synthesis and is a chemical/fertilizer production worker and who also handles phosphate rock other than that from Nauru, Ocean, Makatea or Christmas Island and handle rock phosphate to crushers and all other employees in the rock phosphate section
Hot places - between 46°C and 54°C 4654° Select this condition if you are working in hot places by artiical means between 46 and 54 degrees celcius
Hot places - in excess of 54°C >54°C Select this condition if you are working in hot places by artiical means in excess of 54 degrees celcius
In charge of 11-20 employees 1120E Select this condition if you were in charge of 11-20 people for this shift
In charge of 3-10 employees 310E Select this condition if you were in charge of 3-10 people for this shift
In charge of more than 20 employees >20E Select this condition if you were in charge of more than 20 people for this shift
In charge of plant PLANT Select this condition if you are in charge of plant
In process of buying a place of residence RESID Select this condition if you're in process of buying a residence and are travelling as a result of excess travel requirements
Install or repair belting underground in mines BELTM Select this condition if you are installing or repairing belting in underground mines
Loading / unloading at wharves or railway yards not on employer’s premises LOADU Select this condition when you are loading or unloading at wharves or railway yards not on the employers premises
Loading double-handling into railway or other trucks, fertilizing materials in farmers’ own bags DBLHD Select this condition when you are loading double-handling into railway or other trucks, fertilizing materials in farmers’ own bags
Loading single-handling into railway or other trucks, fertilizing materials in farmers’ own bags SNGLH Select this condition when you are loading single-handling into railway or other trucks, fertilizing materials in farmers’ own bags
Mixing superphosphate MXNGS Select this condition if you both perform work in respect of artificial fertilizers, chemicals, alkalis and all processes involving chemical synthesis and is a chemical/fertilizer production worker and who also handles phosphate rock other than that from Nauru, Ocean, Makatea or Christmas Island and mixing superphosphate.
No meal break NOMEA Select this condition if you are working and no meal break was provided
Operating explosive powered tools EXPWR Select this condition if you are operating explosive power tools
Overtime meal provided by employer MEALP Select this condition if you worked overtime and the employer provided the meal
Processing free coal dust FREEC Select this conddition if engaged in processing free coal dust

Repairs to oil tanks OILTR Select this condition if you are engaged to repair oil tanks
Required to work in wet clothing or boots WETCB Select this condition if working in any place where clothing or boots become saturated by water, oil or another substance
Rock phosphate, superphosphate and mixed manure sections receiving ex ship or railway truck RCVEX Select this condition if you both perform work in respect of artificial fertilizers, chemicals, alkalis and all processes involving chemical synthesis and is a chemical/fertilizer production worker and who also handles phosphate rock other than that from Nauru, Ocean, Makatea or Christmas Island and handles rock phosphate, superphosphate and mixed manure sections receiving ex ship or railway truck
Second hand work 2NDHD Select this condition if working on second-hand upholstering, bedding, floor covering and/or soft furnishings
Ship building SHIPB Select this condition if working in ship building

Sleeping berth provided BERTH Select this condition if you are required to perform excess travel and a sleeping berth has been provided
Sorting, branding, bagging, dumping, sewing or trucking, fertilizing materials in farmers’ own bags SBRBG Select this condition if engaged in sorting, branding, bagging, dumping, sewing or trucking, fertilizing materials in farmers’ own bags
Steel frame buildings construction or repair STFRC Select this condition if repairing or constructing steel frame buildings
Supervisor/Trainer/Coordinator—Technical SUPER Select this condition if you are a supervisor, trainer or coordinator of an employee in a technical field
The handling of superphosphate from the heap until loading in wagons or trucks for despatch, including the manufacture and despatch of mixed fertilizers WGTRK Select this condition if engaged in the handling of superphosphate from the heap until loading in wagons or trucks for despatch, including the manufacture and despatch of mixed fertilizers
Working 15 metres or more directly above the nearest horizontal plane >15MT Select this condtion if working 15 metres or more off the nearest surface
Working in a confined space CNFND Select this condition if working in a confined space
Working in a sanitary works SNTRY Select this condition if working in sanitary works

Employee Tags

Employee Tags are specific conditions typically related to the employees agreement. These are often conditions negotiated and agreed between the employer and the employee, or unique characteristics of the employees role.
